TeliaSonera's new board of directors announced plans for a review of the transactions and agreements made by the operator and its partners in Eurasia in the past few years.
The international law firm Norton Rose will conduct the review, which will include a risk assessment in terms of business ethics and analysis of TeliaSonera's processes and routines to determine whether they are suitable for managing the identified risks.
The new review follows an earlier independent investigation of its activities in Uzbekistan, which cleared the company of any legal violations but identified serious shortcoming in some of its practices in terms of ethics.
The company's entry on the Uzbekistan market is still under investigation by Sweden's public prosecutor. The new review, which will look at all transactions in Eurasia, will be completed by the end of 2013.
