Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and
Industry (FNCCI) has decided to extend the international trade fair to one more
day till Wednesday, after the overwhelming response from the visitors.
"The second international trade fair that was supposed to close on Tuesday has been extended till Wednesday," informed executive member of the FNCCI and coordinator of the trade fair Kalyan Shrestha.
Though we faced some trouble on the first day due to bandh a day ago, the encouraging responses from visitors and exhibitors have made us extend the trade fair for one more day," he said, adding that the bandh had forced Bhutan and the US delegation cancel their trips and Chinese delegation returned a day earlier. "However, China will be the partner country — like India is the partner country for this edition of international trade fair — for next year's international trade fair, Shrestha added. “The next year's trade fair will be organised on March 6-10, 2014."
According to him, a delegation from Sichuan Exhibition Bureau of China will visit the trade fair tomorrow, whereas Danish and German business delegation held business-to-business meeting yesterday and today.
Likewise, Nepali and Bangladeshi entrepreneurs also discussed on joint promotion of plastic, cosmetic, leather and garment sectors today.
More than 200,000 people are expected to visit the fair that has 350 stalls. The second edition of international trade fair is being promoted by Nepal Tourism Board and Trade and Export Promotion Centre to brand Nepal for foreign investment.
