Despite the political
uncertainty and lack of a full budget, the government has been able to mobilise
revenue worth Rs 78 billion in the first four months of the current fiscal
year.
Though the ministry had
a target to mobilise revenue of around Rs 70.51 billion by mid-November, it has
surpassed its target as it stood at some 30.23 per cent more than the same
period of the last fiscal year.
According to the Finance
Ministry, it has released a total of Rs 58.53 billion and Rs 58.05 billion had
been spent in the four months. "Likewise, Rs 51.33 billion was spent out
of the total Rs 51.68 billion released under current expenditure. However,
capital expenditure stood at only Rs 3.53 billion, and Rs 3.18 billion was
spent under financial management.
The government has
received Rs 5.25 billion in foreign assistance against a commitment of Rs 5.68
billion, the ministry said, adding that under foreign assistance, Rs 4.55
billion is grant assistance and Rs 701.3 million is loan assistance.
