Buddha Air adds third ATR aircraft

Buddha Air, today, imported another ATR 72-500 aircraft to enhance its services.
"Now, the private domestic airlines has three ATR 72s, three ATR 42s and three B1900D pressurised aircraft making it a total of nine aircraft in its fleet,” according to the airlines.
With the new addition, the airlines is projecting its share in the domestic market to increase from the current 67 per cent to 75 per cent in the pressurised turboprop segment.
"However, we will not add any new destination with the additional ATR 72,” it said, adding that it will now be better positioned to create a more on-time dispatch with the additional aircraft. "Earlier, we had been facing sporadic flight delays due to over congestion at Tribhuwan International Airport. That problem will be resolved from now onwards," it claimed.
The airlines will also start operating daily flights to Dhangadi from this Thursday with ATR 72s instead of ATR 42s.
