FNCCI, MEDEF join hands

The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and MEDEF International – the French business confederation today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for investment cooperation, in Paris.
According to a press note issued by the FNCCI, the MoU will enhance economic and business relations between Nepal and France, aprtfrom increasing collaborate in the areas of investment and technology transfer.
President of FNCCI Bhawani Rana and president of MEDEF International Frederic Sanchez signed the MoU on behalf of their organizations in the presence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
Both the organisations have long been cooperating in business and investment promotion, it reads, adding that the MoU includes the issues like exchange of business delegation between the two countries, study visits by economic and business sectors, organisation of meetings, interactions, seminars, organisation of seminars in technical areas, exchange of information and knowledge, expansion of business relations, identify investment and trade opportunities and cooperation in technology and investment attraction. “Prime Minister Oli congratulated both the organisations for inking an important understanding and expressed hope that the MoU would play a crucial role in developing collaboration in the areas of mutual benefit.”
Addressing the event after signing, Prime Minister Oli urged the French business community and investors to invest in Nepal. Explaining the recent legal reforms to create more conducive business and investment environment in the country, he asked the French investors to come to Nepal for investment.
Likewise, Rana, on the occasion, expressed hope that the MoU would pave a way for rigorous cooperation between the two organisations and developing the business relations between Nepal and France.
