Nepal Telecom (NT) expects to contribute some Rs
19.06 billion revenue to the government coffer
in the current fiscal year, according to the information it provided during its
ninth anniversary here today.
It had contributed Rs 18.07 billion in the last fiscal year 2011-12.
Likewise, the telecom service provider had recorded Rs 11.60 billion net profit in the last fiscal year, though the profit growth rate has decreased in the recent years due to inefficient management and aggressive marketing of another telecom service provider Ncell.
The largest tax payer had paid Rs 5.64 billion income tax in the last fiscal year 2011-12. It had posted Rs 11.60 billion net profit in the last fiscal year.
However, it has not yet held its annual general meeting and declared dividends to its shareholders.
It has also announced various discount offers on the occasion of its anniversary, apart from promising to provide Wimax service to all soon.
