Ncell will soon introduce a new facility that will enable customers to recharge balances through kiosk machines.
"The recharge kiosks will be the first facility of its kind in Nepal," according to corporate communication director at Ncell Sanju Koirala. Under the facility, Ncell customers can top-up their balance themselves by inserting bank notes of Rs 20 denomination or above into the kiosks, the telecom company said, adding that customers can recharge whatever amount they are comfortable with, starting from Rs 20, by inserting the appropriate bank notes.
The facility will first be introduced in Kathmandu valley and expanded outside the valley soon. There will be a total of 40 kiosks installed in different parts of the valley to facilitate customers in the initial phase. "It will ease and empower customers greatly," she said, adding that the company is glad for being able to serve customers in a new way.
Once the new facility is introduced, customers will not have to rely on recharge cards alone to top-up their balance. It will also assure that customers will get full recharge for money they pay at maximum retail price.
To recharge via kiosks, Ncell customers would first need to choose the language, then select Ncell displayed on the screen and enter the 10-digit mobile number they wish to recharge. After entering the mobile number, the customer must insert a bank note of Rs 20 or above denomination in the feeding inlet.
"The machine does not return change money," Koirala cautioned. "Hence, the customer must insert a bank note of that denomination that they wish to recharge and press the ‘Pay’ key to complete the payment."
On pressing the ‘Pay’ key, the machine will record the transaction, print the payment detail, and deliver the receipt from the receipt outlet. The customer would need to press the ‘Next’ key after each step to enter the next step of the transaction.
The machine does not identify bank notes of Rs 5 and Rs 10 denominations and will return them if inserted mistakenly, she informed.
In case of unsuccessful transaction, which may happen due to technical error, the kiosk machine will not return cash/note. But customers need not worry, for the machine will automatically complete the payment process once the system error is dealt with. In case of wrong entry, the customer can dial 7701 for instant support.
