The private sector has once again
taken charge of maintaining the social harmony during the bandh by organising a
goodwill meeting on Wednesday at Basantapur in Kathmandu.
“The meeting will help to rebuild social harmony among people,” Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) said in a press note.

Frequent bandhs and strikes
called by different agitating groups have distorted the social harmony, the
umbrella organisation of the private sector said, adding that the meeting will
help to strengthen social bonds among diverse groups in the country.
According to FNCCI, district
chapters of FNCCI in Kathmandu valley, commodity associations, Federation
of Nepalese Journalists, Media Society, Television Broadcasters Nepal, Nepal
Bar Association, Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) and other professionals associations
will support the meeting.
"People in ‘white t-shirt’
will carry candles and flags and chant anti Bandh slogans,” it said. According
to FNCCI, people will display banners written ‘End the bandh culture’, ‘Give
constitution in time’ and ‘Lets build social harmony’.
At the end of meeting,
participants will light candles in Bashantpur premises.
