Nepal to observe Entrepreneurship Week

Nepal is celebrating the Global Entrepreneurship Week from November 16 to 22.
There will be number of activities around the world, including Nepal during the week, to inspire young people to embrace innovation, imagination and creativity as the week is celebrated to encourage young people to think big, to turn their ideas into reality and to make their mark.
In Nepal, Sambriddhi -- the Prosperity Foundation -- is also planning to celebrate various activities in coordination with various organisations.
One hundred three countries are hosting Global Entrepreneurship Week, each running a campaign tailored to their audience and entrepreneurial climate in their country, according to the founders.
Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is an international initiative that introduces entrepreneurship to young people in six continents. GEW emerged in 2008 as a result of Enterprise UK and Entrepreneurship Week USA 2007. Since its creation, more than 10 million people from 102 countries have participated in entrepreneurial-related activities during the Week. The annual event occurs over the span of one week and includes the participation of entrepreneurial experts, policy-makers, education practitioners and politicians. Last year 88 countries hosted Global Entrepreneurship Week and generated over 32,000 activities.
For one week, millions of young people around the world join a growing movement of entrepreneurial people, to generate new ideas and to seek better ways of doing things.
The mission of GEW is to expose people to the benefits of entrepreneurship through different activities and to motivate them to explore their own innovative entrepreneurial ideas.
Through this initiative, the next generation of entrepreneurs are inspired and can emerge, according to the founders of the Week, Kauffman -- the foundation for entrepreneurship -- that is a non-profit foundation based in Kansas City, Missouri, established in the mid-1960s by the late entrepreneur and philanthropist Ewing Marion Kauffman.
The Kauffman Foundation’s mission is to foment ‘a society of economically independent individuals who are engaged citizens, contributing to the improvement of their communities’.
Their two main areas of focus are advancing entrepreneurship and improving the education of children and youth.
In doing so, they will begin to acquire the knowledge, skills and networks needed to grow innovative, sustainable enterprises that have a positive impact on their lives, their families and communities.
