Kathmandu ranked 19th best tourism destination in the globe

Kathmandu has been ranked 19th out of 25 world's best tourism destinations for the year 2019.
The world's largest travel site of the United States (US), tripadvisor.com, has included capital city Kathmandu in the list of 25 best tourism destinations for the year 2019.
The website – that has incorporated Nepal's capital surrounded by a valley full of historic sites, ancient temples, shrines, and fascinating villages in the list of prime tourism destinations – provides comprehensive information about travel and possible visiting sites to the tourists.
Mingle with locals and animals amid Durbar Square’s monuments, or join mountain trekkers in the bustling Thamel District, it reads, adding that explore shops for exquisite work by local artisans - carpets are some of the activities tourists like most in Nepal. United Kingdom's capital London has been ranked the first followed by Paris of France and Rome of Italy in the list.

Kathmandu features in TripAdvisor's top destinations list

TripAdvisor – world's largest travel site – has listed Kathmandu in the list of 25 destinations in its 'Travelers' Choice Destinations 2015'.
The site has listed Kathmandu at the 19th position. Kathmandu – the only South Asian city in the list – is surrounded by a valley full of historic sites, ancient temples, shrines, and fascinating villages," TripAdvisor has written. The site has also suggested tourists to visit Durbar Square's monuments, enjoy mountain trekking, and explore Thamel area and shops for exquisite work by local artisans. "Kathmandu Valley is rich in its cultural and historical heritage."
"These world-class destinations chosen by our community are rich in history, culture and beauty and offer endless sights to explore," chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor Barbara Messing said in the statement. "TripAdvisor has surfaced value hotel options that can be booked from the site, along with fantastic places to eat and play to help travelers discover these cities."
TripAdvisor lists the top 25 destinations using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for hotels, restaurants and attractions in destinations worldwide, gathered over a 12-month perio, by the travelers.
Marrakech – a city of Morocco – has topped of the list, climbing five steps compared to last year, according to the TripAdvisor.
Similarly, Siem Reap (Cambodia), Istanbul (Turkey), Hanoi (Vietnam), Prague (Czech Republic), London (England), Rome (Italy) Buenos Aires (Argentina), Paris (France), Cape Town (South Africa), New York (United States), Zermatt (Switzerland), Barcelona (Spain), Goreme (Turkey), Ubud (Indonesia), Cuso (Peru), St. Petersburg (Russia), Bangkok (Thailand), Athens (Greece), Budapest (Hungary), Queenstown (New Zealand), Hong Kong, Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and Sydney (Australia) are in the top destinations to visit in 2015, stated the TripAdvisor that has more than 200 million reviews and opinions covering more than 4.5 million accommodations, restaurants and tourist attractions.

Soaltee wins 'TripAdviso Travellers' Choice 2014' award

Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza won the TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice 2014 for getting the highest number of appreciations from its guests on TripAdvisor.com for its product and services.

 "We are happy to be recognised as one of the world's best properties, based on the opinions of our valuable guests who express their views and feedback on TripAdvisor," said the general manager of the hotel – that is listed at the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) – Nalin Mandiratta in a press note.

The hotel that has listed 30,087,191 units of stocks at the Nepse has reported Rs profit Rs 119.40 million – in the second quarter after taxes – up from Rs 8.35 million in the same quarter of the last fiscal year, due to mainly income from operations that surged to Rs
661.10 million from Rs 560.60 million in the same quarter. The stock of the five-star hotel has been trading at around Rs 340 per unit.

Best hotels in Nepal, according to TripAdvisor

TripAdvisor Inc – the world’s largest travel website – today recognised with 2014 Travelers’ Choice® awards under best hotels and bargain hotels categories.

According to the website, Hotel Tibet International in Kathmandu is the top hotel in Nepal, followed by Dwarika's Hotel in Kathmandu, whereas Hyatt Regency in Kathmandu featured third and Water Front Resort Hotel in Pokhara fourth.

Temple Tree Hotel & Spa in Pokhara is listed fourth, while Atithi Resort & Spa in Pokhara is fifth followed by Gokarna Forest Resort in Kathmandu; Hotel Shanker in Kathmandu; Pokhara Grande in Pokhara and Soaltee Crown Plaza in Kathmandu.

Likewise the travel website also listed top 10 bargain hotels in Nepal.

Nepal travellers' first choice in Asia

Nepal has been voted as the first choice in Asia for travelers by TripAdvisor

The international travel website disclosed the winners of its 2013 Travellers' Choice Awards for Destinations on the rise.

It has voted top ten winners based on reviews and votes of travelers. The 'destinations on rise' category rates the places that have seen the biggest increase in positive reviews from travelers on the site over the past year.

"Kathmandu is the mystical and magical place, a trove of ancient structures that are enveloped in folklore," Trip Advisor described the city. It claims to have over 260 million unique visitors monthly and operates in 34 countries, including China.
Kathmandu is the only destination to make it to the list from south Asia as Isreal, Japan and Vietnam are other destinations from Asia. It has also been named the best backpack destination by Australian travelers in the site.
Highlighting some 54 spots globally based on the consolidated reviews and
opinions of TripAdvisor travellers, Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal has topped the list for Asian destination, whereas Havana in Cuba topped the chart for the world.
