The Star Alliance group
of airlines has expanded its Asia Airpass to include Nepal, Bangladesh,
Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The pass will now cover
over 235 destinations in countries ranging from China and the Philippines to
Indonesia, Cambodia and Mongolia, Star Alliance said.
Passengers can use the
pass to take between three and 10 flights with carriers including Asiana, Air
China, Lufthansa, ANA, Singapore Airlines and United Airlines.
Fares are calculated
based on the flights chosen and offer better value than buying individual
airline tickets, according to Star Alliance that is a network of leading global
airlines, with the highest number of member airlines, daily flights,
destinations and countries flown to.
Established in 1997 as
the first truly global airline alliance to offer customers convenient worldwide
reach and a smoother travel experience, Star Alliance member airlines are among
the most respected in the world.
In order to become
members, all airlines must comply with the highest industry standards of
customer service, security and technical infrastructure, it added.
