India builds Shree Saptmai Gurukul Sanskrit Vidhyalaya in Ilam

Indian has built Shree Saptmai Gurukul Sanskrit Vidhyalaya, at Barbote Village Development Committee (VDC) of Ilam under the Nepal-Bharat Maitri Development Cooperation programme at a cost of Rs 31.13 million, was formally inaugurated via video-conferencing by representatives of Barbote VDC, School Management Committee and Embassy of India, Kathmandu.
The Vidhyalaya was established in 2009 as a primary school and subsequently upgraded as a secondary level school in 2014. The School has a unique qualification of imparting Vedic as well as modern education also in Sanskrit, to its students. The school provides residential facility for students coming from adjoining districts of Ilam.
The four storied new school building constructed with Government of India’s grant assistance, has school and hostel blocks comprising of ten class rooms, nine dormitories for residential students, four study rooms, warden office, one living room, one common hall, three store room and separate sanitation facilities for boys and girls on each floor, according to a press note issued by the Indian Embast in Kathmandu. “The project was implemented by DCC of Ilam.”
The newly built infrastructure of the school is expected to boost learning environment for students. On behalf of people and Government of India, the Embassy is happy to be associated with the project which compliments the effort of government in augmenting infrastructure in the field of education.

Kendriya Vidyalaya celebrates 46th annual day

Kendriya Vidyalaya at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu celebrated its 46th annual day today.
The spectacular cultural event organised at the Nepal Academy was greeted by the ambassador of India to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri as the chief guest. Likewise, deputy chief of mission and chairman of Vidyalaya Management Committee Ajay Kumar was the guest of honour. On the occasion, nominee chairman Abhishek Dubey, top brass of the Indian Embassy and eminent personalities from India and Nepal were also present.
A traditional Nepali Panchakanya welcome was accorded to the guests and dignitaries, who were also given a guard of honour by the Scout and Guide Colour Party of the Vidyalaya. Lighting of a ceremonial lamp marked the auspicious beginning of the colourful extravaganza. The principal, on the occasion, expressed deep gratitude to the chief guest and all other guests who envisaged and steered the Vidyalaya on the path of spectacular success. The colourful programme comprised some scintillating dance performances, vocal recitals, educative skit and instrumental music played by the school band.
Ambassador Puri, who felicitated the students and teachers for excellence in scholastic and co-scholastic spheres, said he was greatly impressed with the progress of the Vidyalaya on all fronts. He congratulated the Kendriya Vidyalaya Kathmandu team for their concerted efforts which manifested in the Vidyalaya reaching unprecedented heights as a centre of quality education as well as its pivotal role in fostering and reinforcing Indo-Nepal ties.
To conclude the cultural bonanza, a power-packed Rangilo dance was performed by the students which set the stage ablaze. A vote of thanks was proposed to bring an official end to the programme followed by Nepali and Indian national anthems sung in unison.

India builds school building

Deputy chief of Mission at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu Dr Ajay Kumar inaugurated the school building of Kuleshwor Awas Secondary School located in Kathmandu-14 today.
The new school building constructed with the Government of India’s grant assistance of Rs 38.60 million is a three-storey building comprising 20 classrooms, separate sanitation facilities for boys and girls on each floor, underground water tank, septic tank and furniture. “The project was implemented by Kathmandu District Coordination Committee (DCC), according to a press note issued by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.
Chairman of DCC Shiva Sundar Raj Vaidya, chairman of the ward-14 Shova Sapkota and District Coordination Officer Pitamber Adhikari, along with political and community leaders also participated in the inaugural ceremony.
Kuleshwor Awas Secondary School – established in 1989 by Kuleshwor Awas Pariwar Kalyan Sanstha – is run with community support. At present, over 800 students are enrolled in the school out of which over 50 per cent are girls. Most of the students come from marginalised communities.
The newly built infrastructure is expected to boost the learning environment of students, the press note reads, adding that India is happy to be associated with the project which compliments effort of Nepal in augmenting infrastructure in the field of education.

Second International Entrepreneurship Conclave ends

Indian Embassy in Kathmandu and Clock b Business Innovations successfully completed the second edition of Connect (IN) - International Entrepreneurship Conclave today.
Inaugurating the conclave, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri emphasised on the young entrepreneur’s energy. "In this era of globalisation the conference like this will play pivotal role to make platform for young entrepreneur to make connection between entrepreneurship ecosystem now and in the days to come," he said, adding that Nepalese youth are not only able to work in abroad but are also equally capable of investing in different sector such as education technology and hospitality sector and can generate employment opportunity and contribute for the development process of overall nations.
The conclave with a theme ‘To connect the great entrepreneurial minds of Nepal and India’ has helped build market connections between startups, entrepreneurs, investors, marketers, lawyers, auditors, government, universities and colleges, mentors, advisors, corporate leaders, incubators and accelerators, development partners, and business enthusiasts, according to the organisers. The conclave also aimed at aiding collaborative discussion and learning.
At second edition of Connect (IN), the young entrepreneurs got an opportunity to connect with investors, venture capitalists and mentors, discussed with the entrepreneurial ecosystem actors, learnt from the prominent entrepreneurial journeys and network with fellow entrepreneurs from India and Nepal.
One of the core objectives of second edition of Connect (IN) initiative was to scout startups, provide them with training and mentorship in the Incubation programme, and finally take the most promising startups to the finale. The organisers, on the occasion, also hosted series of college and youth-level promotional activities and Ideation workshops in various cities to look for the entrepreneurial enthusiasts.
After yearlong social media campaign, outreach activities that reach up to more than one million and partnerships, hundreds of applications were received. After screening these ideas, top 21 ideas were selected for 7 days 'Startup Incubation Programme.' Then, these 21 Startups went through Idea Auditions and finally 6 most promising ideas were selected for the Finale to Pitch their ideas in front of investors, media and entrepreneurs from Nepal and India. The top 6 ideas, who appeared in the finale are Airlift, Swadeshi Innovations, Maker Valley, Unschool, Offering Happiness, and Walkman.
Founder of You First Ventures &TransAsia Ventures Vikrant Gugnani, chief executive for India and South Asia at the OYO Hotels & Homes Aditya Ghosh, co-founder and managing director of IME Group Hem Raj Dhakal, chief executive of Prisma Advertising Ranjit Acharya, president at King’s College Narottam Aryal, editor of Karobar National Economic Daily Kuber Chalise, chief executive of Sushmit Group Sushil Pokharel, second secretary at the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu Kapidhwaja Pratap Singh, Venture Philanthropist and Social Entrepreneur Varun Saraf were few of the speakers at the conclave.
The chief guest for the conclave, chief advisior to the prime minister KP Sharma Oil Bishnu Rimal, on the occasion, said that youth are the engine of the nation. He also stated that for development process an enthusiasm is must and only the youth are enthusiastic by the nature for the great new idea and innovations that can be helpful for development process.
On 24th March 2018, Indian Embassy in Kathmandu and Clock b had successfully hosted its first edition, which brought together over 400 Nepali and Indian startups, entrepreneurs, investors, venture capitalists, aspiring youths, experts, high ranking Nepali and Indian government officials and representatives from media that provided a common platform for the exchange of innovative ideas between the entrepreneurial communities of the two countries.
