The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index today crossed the psychological barrier of 2000 points to make yet another historical record.
Though slower compared to yesterday, the bullish trend continued in the share market today as well and the Nepse index gained 3.35 points to close the day’s trading at 2,000.40 points, from from yesterday’s closing of 2,009.46 points.
The total 12 sub-indices, 7 lost while five gained. The others sub index gained the most by 6.87 per cent – pushing the Nepse up – as the trading sub index lost the most by 4.42 per cent.
Some 18,576,708 units of shares changed hands through 67,355 transactions. Likewise, trading of 197 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs 7.4 billion, according to the Nepse.
According to the Nepse, Nepal Reinsurance Company (NRIC) posted the highest individual scrip turnover of Rs 657.90 million. Similarly, four companies technically hit the 10 per cent positive circuit today, whereas Everest Insurance Company Promoter Share (EICPO) lost the most by 9.24 per cent.
Yesterday, the capital market regulator warned the investors to be cautious while share trading.
