Foreign Minister Gyawali to visit Russia

Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali is paying official visits to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Serbia on November 23-30, according to a press note issued by the Foreign Ministry.
Gyawali is leaving for Moscow on November 23, the press note reads, adding that he is scheduled to hold delegation-level talks with foreign minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Lavrov – while in Moscow – on November 25. “Apart from official engagements, Gyawali will address the Institute of International Relations in Moscow on Nepal-Russia relations and cooperation on November 26.”
He will also meet with Russian political leaders as well as with representatives of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) while in Moscow.
Likewise, Gyawali will reach Belgrade on November 27. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Serbia, the successor of former Yugoslavia. “While in Serbia, he will hold bilateral talks with first deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic,” the press note further reads, adding that he will also pay courtesy call on high-level dignitaries of Serbia.
He will also take part in an interaction programme with local Chambers of Commerce and Travel and Tour operators in Belgrade for investment and tourism promotion, according to the Foreign Ministry. “Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, Nepal's ambassador to Russian Federation Rishi Ram Ghimire and other government officials will accompany Gyawali during the visit to Russia.”
Likewise, the delegation to Serbia will include foreign secretary Bairagi, Non-residential ambassador of Nepal to Serbia Ramesh Prasad Khanal and other government officials. Gyawali will return to Nepal on November 30 wrapping up the visits.
