PM Oli stresses on partnership with private sector

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said that the government has adopted a policy of forging a partnership with the private sector for industrial growth.
Inaugurating the 16th annual general meeting (AGM) of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) here today, Prime Minister Oli said that the government will encourage private sector for import substitution and promoting export. "The government will play the role of facilitator in formulating required acts, laws and rules, and in constructing infrastructure for the economic development of the country," he said, adding that the investors will also be encouraged to invest in the industrial sector in a transparent manner.
Promosing encourage and protect domestic industries, the Prime Minister committed to support the private sector in the technology, raw materials and machines. "Increase in productivity, employment, a strong economy and self-dependent on it is our goal."
On the occasion, the Prime Minister also honoured the DHL Express, the Reliance Spinning Mills and the Jagadamba Spinning Mills in recognition of their contribution to the export promotions. Likewise, Balkrishna Shrestha, Shiva Ratan Sharada, Pawan Golyan, Bijaya Shah and CNI former chair Narendra Basnet were awarded the ‘CNI President Honour’.
The finance minister Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada, on the occasion, said the government was committed to materialising the dream of a prosperous Nepal. "Nepal is in the position of exporting goods and services and an atmosphere conducive for the investment is being created,” he claimed.
Likewise, president emeritus of CNI Binod Chaudhary said that economic development should be at the center of national politics. He also asked the government to follow the economic reforms – like in the 90's – to move ahead and make investment friendly environment. "We need to ensure that our business environment is favourable and our infrastructure is competitive to attract foreign investors in the country."
The outgoing CNI president Haribhakta Sharma, on the occasion, talked about the contribution of CNI to the national economy. The AGM has also elected a new executive committee under Satish Kumar More.
