Nepalese
Young Entrepreneurs' Forum (NYEF) is organining the fourth edition of Made in
Nepal Products and Service exhibition on February 14-17.
The forum of
young entrepreneurs established with a vision to empower positive business
thinking has planned to showcase the products and services made in Nepal at the
four-day expo, said president of the Forum Samir Thapa.
Though it was established aiming at creating
outstanding entrepreneurs through exchange of ideas, fellowships, education,
training and advocacy among the Nepali youth, it has been actively lobbying for
the expansion of domestic market by promoting the domestic products, he said,
adding that
it also aims at including youth voices in policy formulations.

The Forum – officially
established by the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries
(FNCCI) on September 26, 2003 – is also one of the founding members of the
SAARC Young Entrepreneurs Forum (SYEF), Association of Youth Organisation Nepal
(AYON) and the World Young Entrepreneurs Forum (WYEF) and a member of the
Confederation of Asia Pacific Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACCI)
Committee on Youth Entrepreneurship.
The Forum brings
together young entrepreneurs within the country and help them mentor also,
Thapa added. "It promotes entrepreneurial mindset with a shared vision
through an effective and much needed networking of young entrepreneurs."
After a
successful start in Kathmandu, it has been expanded across the country to Biratnagar,
Pokhara and Birgunj and some more chapters are in the pipeline.
"Made in Nepal is one of
the key initiatives of the Forum," informed vice president of the Forum
Niranjan Shrestha, who was one of the brains behind the establishment of the
Forum. "It is not only a campaign but a movement in making," he said,
adding that the movement will help contribute towards the country's ailing economy
by promoting domestic industries.
The campaign
also aims at bringing about behavioural change among the Nepali consumer and
start consuming Nepali Products and Services, said the coordinator of the expo
Sudarshan Nepal.
The motive behind the
campaign is to encourage people to use the Products Made in Nepal and create
awareness to give value to the Made in Nepal Products and Services, he added.
