Natasha Shrestha has been awarded PATA Personality of the Year 2013.
The 38th PATA annual general meeting held here today,
at Hotel Annapurna in Kathmandu honoured Russian-born managing
director of Avia Club Nepal Shrestha for her contribution to establish air sports in Nepal.
On the occasion, PATA Youth Forum – to prepare the Next
Generation in tourism industry – was launched at the initiation of PATA Nepal
Chapter, according to chairman of PATA Nepal Chapter Suman Pandey.
On the
occasion, member of Constituent Assembly (CA) Gagan Thapa stressed on encouraging
companies from other countries to send incentive tours to Nepal. "Boost in
tourism can alleviate poverty," he said, urging the youth to realise poverty free Nepal.
Likewise,
chief secretary Lilamani Poudel stressed on responsible tourism and the concept
of giving back to the community.
The meeting also decided to
plan for a successful The Himalayan Travel Mart on May 29-31.
