Security, economic issues key: Indian envoy



The South Asian nations India and Nepal should strengthen their bilateral relations with increased security and economic cooperation, according to Indian ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae. Speaking at an interaction, here today organised by the Reporters' Club, he said the relations between Nepal and India is totally different from any other countries.
"There is huge possibility in cooperation in hydropower development, tourism and agriculture between the two nations, he said, adding that the stability after the Constitution will help foster the bilateral relations and prepares the ground for economic development. "However, peace, security and development are interrelated. The open border between the two nations can benefit both but the other will be affected, if one has any security problem."
The leaders of various political parties, on the occasion, urged to make a common stance on hydropower development to develop the energy sector. They also asked to take advantage from the rising economic powers like India and China.
