RPP Nepal for liberal economic policy

Yet another political party has assured the private sector that it believes in liberal economic policy and is ready to include minimum economic agenda in its election manifesto.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party today assured the business fraternity that it has identified liberal economic policy as one of the four pillars of the party’s principles.

Earlier, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist have already promised to support liberal economic policy during the discussions with the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).

Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal Kamal Thapa today speaking at an interaction organised by the umbrella organisation of the private sector, also clarified that his party would prioritise economic agenda in the election manifesto.

“We are for public, private and people’s participation model for the development,” said the right wing leader.

FNCCI has been lobbying with different political parties to include common minimum economic agenda in their respective election manifestos for the second Constituent Assembly (CA) election that is being held on November 4.

On the occasion, FNCCI president Suraj Vaidya handed over the private sector’s suggestions to Thapa. FNCCI has already submitted such suggestions to Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist.

Despite political transition and different ideologies, the political parties can come together at a minimum common economic agenda for the development of the country, he said, adding that the need of the hour is economic development that will help bring political stability.
Vaidya also urged the RPP to prioritise infrastructure projects like at least two storage hydro-projects, Kathmandu Tarai Fast Track, Nijgadh International Airport and Mid-hills highway in the next five years.
