Atma Ram Murarka – a pioneer industrialists and founder chairman
of Murarka Organistaion – passed away today morning at the age
of 72 at the Norvic Hospital.
He was suffering from lungs-related problem. He is survived by a
wife, two daughters and two sons.
Murarka Organisation that has cement industry to paint, to iron rod,
and invested in hydropower, banks and financial institutions, food, tea,
vegetable ghee, oil and many more – has been operating around a
dozen industries under his guidance.
Muraraka, a former vice president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI), was associated with Confederation of Nepali Industries (CNI) in the recent years.

FNCCI has condoled over the untimely demise of its former vice president
and the father of incumbent vice president Pashupati Murarka.The former president of Nepal Cement Manufacturers'
Association, Muraraka, was actively involved in many organisations.
He was also involved in the social service in his home district where he had built college, hospital and temples.Born in Lahan of Siraha district in 1941 as the youngest son of Jwala Prasad Muraraka and Siyobai Devi Muraraka, he had completed his BA from CM College of Darbhanga of the Indian state of Bihar in 1960. Though, he could not complete his masters due to illness, he completed his BL in 1962, before joining his family business with his brothers.
A true industrialist Muraraka used to say that he could get satisfaction from being an industrialist, rather than from being a trader. "An industrialist can also earn name and fame, whereas a trader can only earn money," he used to say.
