China, Nepal to jointly boost tourism

Tourism officials from China and Nepal signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) today to jointly boost tourism between the two neighbours.
The MoU was signed in capital of Tibet Autonomous Region Lhasa during the sixth session of the China-Nepal Tourism Joint Coordinating Committee, which started yesterday.
The two sides have agreed to promote tourism development and cooperation as well as the opening-up of ports and resumption of direct passenger land transport between Lhasa and Kathmandu.
Tibet and Nepal are complementary in terms of tourism resources, and strengthening tourism cooperation between the two sides has great significance for mutual benefit.
Nepal has also seen a steady rise in Chinese tourists since 2001.
