Revenue mobilisation up

Despite the political uncertainty and lack of a full budget, the government has been able to mobilise revenue worth Rs 78 billion in the first four months of the current fiscal year.
Though the ministry had a target to mobilise revenue of around Rs 70.51 billion by mid-November, it has surpassed its target as it stood at some 30.23 per cent more than the same period of the last fiscal year.
According to the Finance Ministry, it has released a total of Rs 58.53 billion and Rs 58.05 billion had been spent in the four months. "Likewise, Rs 51.33 billion was spent out of the total Rs 51.68 billion released under current expenditure. However, capital expenditure stood at only Rs 3.53 billion, and Rs 3.18 billion was spent under financial management.
The government has received Rs 5.25 billion in foreign assistance against a commitment of Rs 5.68 billion, the ministry said, adding that under foreign assistance, Rs 4.55 billion is grant assistance and Rs 701.3 million is loan assistance.
